Marking the 1000th anniversary of the city of Hanoi – and with the aim of fostering friendship between Vietnam and Japan – this event showcasing Vietnamese cuisine, culture and music is the biggest of its kind in Japan. With this year’s theme based on getting Vietnamese and Japanese cultures to learn about each other, the festival will feature 60 booths. Some will be selling Vietnamese food, drink and sundries, while others will be run by government organizations, NGOs, NPOs, and other organisations which deal with Vietnam. Vietnamese songstress Ho Quynh Huong, popstar Lam Truong, and Ho Chi Minh rapper DJ Samurai, as well as other performers will be coming to Japan to perform at the event. Around 100,000 people are expected to be in attendance.
