Not a fan of the family-friendly Halloween parades taking place all over Tokyo this weekend? If you're still looking to dress up and have a good time without having to put up with a bunch of noisy kids, head over to Nakameguro on Saturday night: the Meguro River will be lit up in blue, a jazz band will be providing accompaniment, and make-up artists will be on hand to put the finishing touches on your costume. The winner of the costume contest will be awarded ¥100,000 and a one-year supply of beverages from Molson Coors (think Zima, Corona and Blue Moon) – how's that for motivation? And yes, there'll be a parade too.
