Smart Illumination Yokohama 2016

Held every autumn since 2011, Yokohama's Smart Illumination show makes use of the latest in energy-efficient lighting technology to turn the city's waterfront areas into a sea of colour. This year's edition sees 16 artists, including ever-present Kyota Takahashi and international guests Barbara Cadet and Lu Yang, add their creativity to the light-up mix, while the familiar 'Fruits of Light' programme for kids will be back again as well. Workshops and interactive installations complete the lineup, so make sure to head south to Yokohama in the middle of autumn and see this spectacle light up the evening.
