The Royal Concept

We can't really wrap our heads around the phenomenon, but Japanese music fans seem to be going crazy for this pop-rock foursome combining elements of the long and proud Swedish pop tradition with a fun electro sound, as exhibited on their 2010 debut single Damn. The Royal Concept sold out their gigs at both Japan Jam and Harajuku's Astro Hall in spring, and are returning in October for two Tokyo dates. One of these, at Liquidroom, has already been sold out (!), while tickets for this Club Quattro gig go on general sale September 27.
