Back for its third edition this year, StarFes has moved from March to September, from Kawasaki to Chiba's Makuhari, and is now produced by Vice Japan, hopefully giving the show some extra edge. Although M.I.A. eventually decided to skip this one, the lineup received a massive boost with the additions of NYC hip-hop giant Nas and the indomitable Erykah Badu, who'll be joining rap legends Public Enemy, math rockers Zazen Boys and veteran hip-hop spinner DJ Krush. Osaka-based rock troupe Boredoms will also be performing a 'circulating set' with eight guitarists and six drummers (and more), which should at least make for something completely different. Tickets go on general sale August 23.
