Bowling Green, KY natives Cage the Elephant first found fame (strangely enough) in England, as well as with their showing at SXSW in 2007 and their eponymous debut album released the following year. Their take on classic garage punk is a chaotic listen that draws on psychedelia, ’70s southern rock, glam and contemporary indie: just the thing for a rollicking live show.

After a stop last year at the Hollywood Bowl, Janet Jackson returns to town with a pair of arena dates—and a relentless stream of late-’80s hits—with support from Nelly.

Dressed to the nines in matching suits, L.A.’s own Chicano Batman combine Tropicalía with the effortless swagger of ‘70s soul music. The quartet plays music that’s somewhere in between surf, psych rock and tropicalia, all rolled up into a tight groove and a Devendra Banhart-like lilt.

The short version: J.Lo is coming to town for concerts at both the Forum and the Honda center. The longer version (deep breath): The iconic singer and actor is in the midst of her three-part This Is Me… project, a document of the return of Bennifer that includes her latest record, This Is Me… Now, as well as a musical film adaptation dubbed This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, all of which factors into this tour, titled—you guessed it—“This Is Me… Now: The Tour.” But, you know, you’ll probably still hear her sing “Jenny from the Block” and “Let’s Get Loud” so that’s cool.

I’m broke but I’m happy because Alanis Morissette is playing the Forum (and, let’s face it, we’ll be even more broke once we shell out for tickets). The singer-songwriter who we’ve all attempted to emulate during drunken karaoke is hitting the road, and she’ll be playing all the hits (and probably even more classic songs than you remember). Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Morgan Wade open the August 10 show at the Forum. And I’m here to remind you that tickets go on sale Friday, November 17 at 10am, with presales starting as early Tuesday, November 14.

A little bit piano ballad a little bit pop-punk, the “driver’s license” singer hits the road in support of GUTS, the follow-up to her smash album SOUR, with a few nights at the Forum.

Country star Kacey Musgraves mixes a classic, honeyed sound with a subversive lyrical take on the traditionally straitlaced genre. For her dates at the Forum, catch her with some pretty excellent support, too, thanks to opening sets from Father John Misty and Nickel Creek.
