A city can be packed to the rafters with culture, positively drowning in history and offer a bounty of delicious cuisines to sample, but for the aesthetic-minded, drippy travellers among us, the best places are where the locals slay as much as their surroundings do.

Yep, we’re talking about fashionable cities. A new study by Ubuy.fr has investigated which of the world’s urban centres have been pinned, tagged and shopped in the most, as well as how many high-end brands and shopping spots there are, so you can flash the card like you’re Carrie Bradshaw.

In maybe the least shocking crowning of any ranking ever, Paris claimed the top spot. Yep, the notoriously stylish, laid-back French capital is home to 30 high-end brands, has been tagged on Instagram 5.9 million times, and is the focus of 998 Pinterest boards. Just have a look at all these cool vintage shops, department stores, and these big names on the Champs-Élysées. Très chic.

In second place comes Tokyo, which is also the theme of 998 Pinterest boards and has been tagged 1 million times. The Japanese capital has a staggering 2,241 shopping spots.

If you’re looking for high-end brands specifically, London will be the place, as 50 fashion companies have their HQs in the city. On the other hand, Dubai has been tagged the most, boasting a whopping 9.3 million mentions on Instagram.
