A luxury hotel in west Shinjuku, the Hilton opened in 1984 after vacating its previous premises in Nagatacho. Rooms are of a good size, and views look out into busy Shinjuku. As you’d expect, the standard of service is high. For business travellers, the hotel offers five executive floors, with separate check-in and their own guest relations officers on hand to help out and advise. The hotel's recently renewed executive lounges also provide views of Mt Fuji on a clear day, making it a highlight for guests staying at the hotel. The Hilton is also one of few Tokyo hotels to have its own tennis courts. As for food, the hotel is home to six different restaurants and bars featuring Japanese and Chinese cuisine, a steak house, a lounge renowned for its daily dessert buffet, plus signature cocktails and live music.

Hilton Tokyo ‘Strawberry Heart Factory’ dessert buffet

Now that we’re officially in strawberry season, there’s no better way to enjoy these ruby red berries than with a sumptuous strawberry desserts buffet at the Hilton Tokyo. The decadent spread features 20 different types of strawberry sweets as well as fresh strawberries – and you can eat them all till your heart's content. Set to the theme of ‘Strawberry Heart Factory’, the buffet is decked out with cute pastel colours and plenty of heart-shaped desserts – perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day, or as a special outing with your friends and loved ones. Highlights from the menu include the Strawberry Heart No. 1 shortcake made with fluffy sponge, the Heartful strawberry tart with almond crust, orange-flavoured custard cream and strawberries, and the Strawberry gateau chocolate topped with a strawberry-flavoured red marzipan. There are also heart-shaped macarons filled with rose buttercream and raspberries, strawberry shakes, strawberry and champagne jelly, and dainty cream puffs filled with strawberry and lemon custard cream. While strawberries may be the draw here, the buffet also features six savoury items including potato gratin, roasted Cajun chicken, steamed fish with yellow pepper sauce, caesar salad and a soup. The Marble Lounge at the Hilton Tokyo is hosting a dessert buffet inspired by nostalgia as well as a psychedelic vision of the future. Called the ‘Sweets Time Machine’, the all-you-can-eat spread features old-school cakes, pastries and light meals that will appeal to our fond childhood memories. The lounge will be transformed in matching fashion, with bold, bright colours to create an inviting, atmospheric setting that befits the theme. You can expect 20 kinds of sweet treats made with summer fruits including melons, peaches and mangoes, among others. The buffet features classic chocolate mint cupcakes with blue frosting, chocolate-coated éclairs filled with passion fruit ganache, almond mousse with shine muscat grapes and jelly, coconut-coated cheese soufflé topped with tropical fruits, strawberry chocolate mousse with ruby grapefruit confiture, genoise cake with watermelon confiture and Campari liqueur-flavoured yoghurt mousse, and many other delectable creations. Don’t sleep on the ice cream selection either. As the weather starts to warm up, there’s no better place to enjoy an ice cold beer and Tokyo skyline views than Hilton Tokyo’s Beer Garden in the Sky. This gorgeous open-air terrace and bar is situated on the hotel's seventh floor and offers stunning views of Shinjuku along with a tempting selection of food and drinks. This season’s beer garden has taken inspiration from the summers of Ibiza and features a resort-like atmosphere where you can enjoy a selection of authentic tapas and pintxos (small snacks) along with a range of drinks from Spain. Chef Luke Mangan at Hilton Tokyo

For just four days, Hilton Tokyo’s signature restaurant Metropolitan Grill will be hosting a pop-up by acclaimed chef and leading restaurateur Luke Mangan.  Hailing from Australia, the world-renowned culinary talent has a remarkable career under his belt as he continues to operate a diverse range of restaurants that go beyond the traditional setting. He curated the dining experience on the Eastern & Oriental Express trains, consulted for Virgin Atlantic's in-flight dining, and launched a grill restaurant on P&O cruise ships. Additionally, Mangan has also catered celebrity weddings and designed unique menus for several bistros. More impressively, Mangan established Salt, his first restaurant in Sydney, back in 1999, which he then expanded globally with outposts in countries including Japan and Singapore. For his pop-up at Hilton Tokyo, Mangan will showcase some of his signature dishes across lunch and dinner, which range from four to six courses.
