Much as it's been heartening to witness the recent flourishing of Napolitan-style pizzerias in Tokyo, the sense of authenticity hasn't tended to extend as far as the menu prices. This new Shibuya eatery seems to be getting it right in that respect: when it opens on April 15, 2012, Napoli’s Pizza & Caffe will serve up its margherita and cecinielli (whitebait) pizzas for a mere ¥350 a pop, while even the most expensive pie on offer will still run you to just ¥650. With an accompanying menu of cheap 'n' greasy antipasti, soft drinks and budget-priced wine, coupled with opening hours that put Sbarro to shame, it promises to reclaim pizza's reputation as cheap, easy fast food.
Transport Shibuya Station (Yamanote, Shonan-Shinjuku, Ginza, Hanzomon, Fukutoshin lines, etc.)
