Since his first transmissions of Basic Channel-style dub techno in the mid-2000s, Andy Stott's music has grown steadily darker and more dirt-encrusted. The We Stay Together and Passed Me By EPs that he released on longtime label Modern Love in 2011 were among the dankest things we heard all year: brilliant to listen to at home with the lights off and cockroaches scuttling across the floor, though perhaps too freaky to get a club audience dancing. It'll be fascinating to see how Stott fares when he plays a headlining live set at Eleven's latest Ubik party, where he's supported by the ever-reliable DJ Nobu. The lounge lineup, curated by the underground techno/noise enthusiasts from Ochiai venue Soup, includes live sets by Yaporigami and Miclodiet.
