Pop-electric maverick Thomas Dolby returned last year with his first album in nearly two decades – a gaping void in his resume that he'd filled by developing ringtone synthesizers for mobile phones. A Map of the Floating City was vintage Dolby, and not just in its brainiac songwriting: it came complete with a web-based SNS game, the winners of which were treated to a private concert by the man himself. He's joined for these Tokyo dates by drummer Mat Hector and Kevin Armstrong, who played guitar on the singer's classic The Golden Age Of Wireless and The Flat Earth albums in the 1980s.
