Nate Young Regression Vol. 3

In as much as you can call anyone from the noise music scene 'stars', it's probably true of Wolf Eyes. The Detroit collective earned a hefty amount of media coverage during the noughties, not least thanks to their releasing two albums on a label that anyone had actually heard of (Sub Pop, who were behind 2004's Burned Mind and 2006's Human Animal). Surprisingly, the group have yet to make it to Japan, but founder Nate Young is in town this month for a few gigs and an art exhibition at the newly opened Haus gallery in Oshiage. This show sees him tussle in a duo with Tokyo-based musician Jim O'Rourke, who has apparently been itching to play with Young since Wolf Eyes supported Sonic Youth back in 2004. There'll be a further duo between Tenniscoats guitarist Takashi Ueno and ex-Boredoms drummer Muneomi Senju, plus sets by Morley Robertson and Helll.
