When indie genius Shugo Tokumaru invited Seiichi Yamamoto and Phew to play at his Tonofon Festival last year, it was the first time the duo had performed in over a decade. Not that they hadn't shared a stage at countless other occasions, of course: the former Boredoms guitarist and idiosyncratic singer have collaborated in a variety of settings, most memorably with the unapologetically middle-aged punk group Most. As a duo, they keep things much softer, drawing on the beguiling, artless songs from 1998's Shiawase no Sumika album.
