Former Oasis mainstay Noel Gallagher is getting the deluxe treatment in Tokyo this month. Fans who can't wait (or didn't get tickets in time) for next week's Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds gigs can get an early taster at SuperDeluxe, which is hosting an exhibition of photos of the self-styled Rock 'n' Roll Star. Veteran snapper Lawrence Watson spent 18 months documenting the production of Gallagher's debut solo album, and his images are complemented by a smattering of super-eight and video footage. If it takes more than a few nice pics to pique your interest, there'll be appropriately themed events each evening: local radio DJ Guy Perryman oversees a free opening party on the first night, followed on Jan 13 by a screening of indie-label documentary Upside Down: The Creation Records Story, before swaggering Aussie rockers The Novocaines take centre stage at an evening of live music on Jan 14, supported by the ever-entertaining Molice.
