Legendary Houses in Postwar Japan

After displays in Hiroshima and Saitama, this interesting exhibition now comes to Hachioji's Yume Museum for June and July, shining a light on 16 remarkable houses designed by 16 of Japan's most renowned postwar architects. Built mainly between the 1950s and late '70s, the abodes symbolise the country's adoption of the single-family home ideal, but also point at the innovation inherent in the designs of pioneers like Kenzo Tange, Toyo Ito and Tadao Ando.
