Finnish designer Eero Aarnio's futuristic creations, including the 1963 Ball Chair and 1968 Bubble Chair, were an integral part of 1960's pop culture and appeared frequently in sci-fi flicks of the era (the former also made a famous latter-day cameo in Men in Black). Aarnio's simple but innovative designs made good use of colourful plastic, a new material in furniture back then, and had a significant impact on the entire field of interior design. This retrospective exhibition introduces visitors to the work and life of one of modern design's pioneers, and just might make you want a Ball Chair of your own.
