Ofunato Sanma Matsuri at Tokyo Tower

Queue up for free fish at Tokyo Tower, where 3,333 fresh, charcoal-grilled Pacific saury from Iwate's Ofunato are given away throughout the morning on September 22. Get there early (waiting ticket distribution starts at 7.30am) and be prepared to wait for your share – or bring a few coins and opt for the delicious-looking sanma burger (¥600). Iwate-based artists will also be rocking the festival stage throughout the day.
